Skinny Yarn and Tiny Needles 


I like combining two different yarns to make something unexpected. Or at least something different. And sometimes it's a good way to get a new sort of colour. For instance, the above example shows a light turquoise that I find a bit too pastel-y combined with a light brown that is a bit too taupe-y for my liking. Together they form a nice, cool-neutral blueish-greenish-brownish shade that is somehow much more pleasing to me. Also, by holding two lace-weight yarns together, I can make a slightly thicker fabric - ie) knit the whole thing faster. I think I will try holding these two yarns together to make a summer scarf like the one below >>
