I also think fall is a good time for knitting. (This is really a joke, because I knit year-round. It doesn't get very hot here in the summer. I think we ran the furnace every month except August so far this year.) I finished the orange slippers I'd been procrastinating over, and they didn't turn out nearly as nice as the pattern images. This is because: a) I had to shorten them half-way through knitting the first one, when I realized it would be way too big for my foot- but I should have also shortened the foot opening. So to keep them from falling off my feet, I had to b) add a ribbed cuff to pull the opening in a bit. And then that looked so dorky compared to the nice picot edging the pattern suggests, so I decided it wouldn't hurt to c) add pom-poms. I like making pom-poms, so I didn't exactly need an excuse. I also think most slippers look better with pom-poms, but maybe these particular ones just look ridiculous. Either way, they are still too big, even with the thick wooly socks I seem to be wearing lately (it's cold). Sigh. I will resort back to my tested-and-true slipper pattern for my next pair, I think.
And while we're talking about knitting and fall, you should check out the beautiful and inspiring new patterns from Brooklyn Tweed. I am definitely going to have to make this cardigan. You can never have too many cardigans. I might make it in grey. I particularly like the stand up collar...

UMMMMMM, not to be super presumptuous, but those would probably fit me, maybe?!?! Haha.
Love you, miss you, more soon.

That's right, they'd probably fit lots of us :) I am a big fan of the pom-poms.
Those cookies look AWESOME. I think I will have to make them soon - maybe the smell of them will convince someone to buy our house? :)
Yay! Love the striped socks to go along with the fabulous pom-pommed slippers! Those cookies look good enough to eat right off the screen hehehe!
I know, I should have given them away to someone whose feet are the right size! But I had chilly toes and needed slippers NOW, so maybe the next pair will be a give-away...;)
