I finally finished working on the wedding invitations for my little brother and his cute-as-a-button-fiancée, Betsy - but I can only give you a sneak peek because they haven't been sent out yet. I really hope everyone will like them!
Once the invitations were done, I was finally able to reupholster that chair. I had some leftover fabric so I made some new covers for the sofa pillows. I also had some bits of foam kicking around [leftover from lining the bottom of Princess Carley's very cushy crate] so I made a cushion for our lovely but very hard desk chair.
And now I think it's time I turned my attentions outdoors. It's starting to look like spring, for real. I will post some proof of that soon.
Monday, April 20
I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus. But I'm back now. Spring is just around the corner, I can feel it. A few weeks ago there was still a lot of snow and ice but it's been steadily melting and making everything soggy. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago, when it was still a bit more winter-y. You can see the trail made by the Coast Guard ship through the ice in the bay.
And I got a bit of snow in my rubber boots, trying to walk not on the road. That'll teach me.
Oh I'm sooooooooooooooo bored. That's why I'm lying on your bed. I know I'm not supposed to do it, but if I look at you like this with my big puppy eyes you won't be mad at me, I know it.
Christmas in April!
I found the best walking stick. It made me invincible. But don't forget the rubber boots. Very important in this sort of weather, in this part of the world. They are my most valuable possession since moving here, I think.
Still frozen...
Our intrepid little explorer. She scoffs at walking sticks and rubber boots.
And I know it's come and gone, but I just wanted to say Happy Easter. I got a lovely surprise in the mail from my even lovelier cousin, Kara. Look! Pink elephants! Colourful chocolates! Egg poaching things! And a dessert recipe book that we will use when we are not on this crazy stupid diet anymore...it's tough going, I tell you. I ate some chocolate pudding tonight, even though I really wasn't supposed to. What are you gonna do, though, right? And of course those chocolate candies are all gone. Loooooooong gone. And that Dwell magazine wasn't part of the package but it was in the post office box at the same time, and it looked nice with everything else, so I just threw it in there, too.
And now I'll leave you with some footage of spring-time frolicking in the half-frozen swamps.
This is a journal of happenings that I share with my friends and family. Currently I am posting from the beautiful island of Newfoundland, Canada. Thanks for dropping by!
